Estelí gathers Miraflor Nature Reserve, with community rural tourism, Tisey-La Estanzuela Nature Reserve and its waterfall, and the History and Archaeology Museum; every card has unconfirmed status. Somoto Canyon has no card: Somoto’s disaster-prevention committee (Comupred) announced a full temporary closure from 14 October 2025 because the river rose. INTUR documented the Cañón de Somoto Trail event in Madriz on 1 and 2 May 2026; that report does not confirm current general tourist access to the canyon, which remained unconfirmed in our check on 6 October 2026.

Best time to go: According to Canada, the rainy season runs from May to November, with October the wettest month, and the hurricane season from mid-May to the end of November on the Pacific and from early June to the end of November in the Atlantic and the Caribbean. It is an approximate national pattern, not a climate record for each region. Follow the civil protection authorities’ instructions.
Getting there: This guide does not calculate road routes or travel times and offers no arrival points. Miraflor is reached by a gravel road, according to ViaNica.
