What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser, which the browser sends back on every visit. Local storage (localStorage) is similar, but it stays on your device and does not travel with each request. Both are used to remember things between visits.
What this site stores
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no tracking or analytics cookies. It can keep only two values in your browser's local storage, and neither leaves your device:

Google cookies once there is advertising
Today we show no ads: the site loads nothing from Google and sets no cookie, neither Google's nor its own. If and when we turn ads on, Google AdSense ads to keep the guide free will always be labelled "Advertisement". Only if you accept will Google's services be loaded; they may set cookies and use identifiers from your device. If you decline, no Google script will be loaded and no Google cookie will be set.

Maps
The guide's maps set no cookies. When shown, they request their images from Stadia Maps, which sees your IP address as any server does when your browser asks it for a file. The waitlist confirmation and unsubscribe pages store nothing in your browser.
Changing your decision
While there are no ads, your choice has no effect, but it is saved for when there are. Once there are, you can accept or decline advertising cookies at any time. If you decline, Google's services will stop loading from your next visit; any cookies Google has already set can be deleted from your browser settings.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you clear this site's data, you will lose your "My trip" list.
