    The most protected cay in the park. MiAmbiente considers it a site of global importance for the hawksbill turtle and keeps it free of human intervention.

    Access restricted because it is critical nesting habitat for the hawksbill turtle (MiAmbiente, Dec 2024). Visit Zapatilla Cay 2 instead, which is open to visitors who follow the rules.

    Night walks with guides from the Bocas Carey Natural Association (ANABOCA) to watch turtles nesting on Bluff Beach, a program started in 2012 with Sea Turtle Conservancy support.

    Only during the turtle season. The Sea Turtle Conservancy gives nesting from March to October; Visit Panamá lists public walks with certified guides (ANABOCA programme) from April to August. Confirm the outing with the programme. Outside that period, visit Bluff Beach by day or Cayo Zapatilla 2 on a tour, following the park rules.

    Cave with bats and an underground lake at Bahía Honda, Isla Bastimentos, inside the marine park. Reached by boat through mangroves and a hike of about 3 km; run by the Ngäbe community.

    Current status unconfirmed. Visit Panamá recommends visiting in the dry season (December to March) and always with a certified local guide from the community. According to an operator, inside the cave there are stretches of deep water and slippery surfaces: check with the guide first or choose a snorkel tour instead.
