A colonial defensive fortress in Trujillo's historic centre, declared a National Historic Monument and Heritage Site in 1990 and run by the IHAH since 1997, according to the IHAH. It houses a museum on the history, culture and traditions of the northeast coast, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Status not confirmed: in an inspection on 30 April 2025, the Public Prosecutor's Office found roof damage in the former dormitories, used as storerooms, and that the old kitchen works as an exhibition room on Garífuna culture; no later IHAH source on visiting conditions was read, and XplorHonduras's page (April 2026) does not cite its source.
