    A mountain park above Tegucigalpa run since 1993 by the National Parks Foundation; the ticket covers its family areas, the Bridge in the Heights, the Maya Stairway and the Confucius Square.     Honduras's first national park (Decree 976-80, from 1980): some 24,040 ha of cloud forest supplying about 30% of Tegucigalpa's water, according to SINIT, with eight trails of varying difficulty, according to Visit Honduras. It is managed by the AMITIGRA foundation.

    Status not confirmed: AMITIGRA's website was not responding in October 2026; the news read with a statement from AMITIGRA is from March 2024, when the foundation said the trails remained open after a fire in the buffer zone (El País). Check before you go.
